The truth is... I don't have the support of anyone. As I suspected, I am alone. I recently found out that I really don't even have the faith of the people I thought I could trust. My actions, judgments and those of those whom I may consider brethren by association continue to go chastised by those who will never see a front-line. We go judged by those with no sense of duty or honor though, sometimes I wonder if those are words that we hide behind. The irony of being alone is how I've come to feel alone. Caring about some sort of false sense of a "greater good". Few if any care about such an ideology and we as a people care more about the ignorant, safe little bubbles we refuse to admit that we hide in. We judge from the safeties of our own little worlds. We call the gang-banger whose mother was a crack addict and whose father spent the last 16 years in lock-down a criminal. We call the police officer who was threatened in the line of duty and discharged his weapon to protect himself a murderer. We call politicians crooks and liars without ever even being able to comprehend how or why the decisions are made are made. Nobody takes a minute to ask why. In fact, as masses… all we care about is the what. Nobody ever cares about the why. Nobody bothers to ask a simple question… “Why did this happen?”, “Why is it like this?”, “Why did they do that?” There’s no sense of inquisition. There’s no moment of reasoning. We want answers and or results without having to do the work. We want to point the finger at every little problem in our society while refusing to look at ourselves or take any action to fix it. The truth is… good guys and bad guys are far scarcer in the world than we think. We’re just people. Ignorant, selfish and scared. That is the nature of people.
